We learned with deep sorrow that a terrorist attack was perpetrated today (23 February) in Lahore, capital city of Punjab province of Pakistan. We strongly condemn the attack and express our solidarity with the friendly and brotherly people and Government of Pakistan.

As it is emphasized in the Joint Declaration of the fifth meeting of the Turkey-Pakistan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which was co-chaired in Ankara today, by H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Prime Minister of Turkey and H.E. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, our countries will resolutely fight against terrorism and will strengthen cooperation in this area.

We share the sorrow of friendly and brotherly people of Pakistan, and wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in this heinous attack, speedy recovery to the wounded and convey our condolences to their families.
